Carbon Neutral Projects. Cool.

  • Remooable Energy

Interface purchased carbon offsets through NativeEnergy from family-owned dairy farms in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Farm methane abatement projects prevent the release of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas, from manure storage lagoons, by digesting the manure anaerobically, and then capturing and burning it to generate electricity and useful thermal energy.
  • Winds of Change

Interface purchased carbon offsets through NativeEnergy from wind energy projects in the Midwest located on Native American lands. These farms use wind turbines to generate electricity, avoiding emissions from traditional electricity generation.
  • Clean Energy

Interface purchased carbon offsets derived from wind energy technology at the Te Apiti Wind Farm in New Zealand. The power from the wind farm replaces power originally generated by burning coal. The carbon offsets from this first of its kind project in New Zealand are verified to the voluntary Gold Standard.
  • J.B. Hunt Carbon Offsets

Interface purchased carbon offsets generated by a J.B. Hunt transportation initiative that reduces pollution by using more efficient transport. The company opted to go beyond traditional over-the-road shipping methods and switched to rail, a less polluting alternative. This use of intermodal shipment methods produced carbon offsets.
  • Carbon Offsets

Interface has purchased carbon offsets from projects where waste CO2 from oil and natural gas treatment plants is injected into depleted crude oil reserves. The injected CO2 becomes trapped and cannot be emitted into the atmosphere.
  • Paraiso Small Hydropower Project

Interface purchased carbon offsets from the Paraiso Small Hydropower Project located in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil. This run-of-river project uses the power potential of the Paraiso river to generate electricity to supply Brazil’s growing energy demand through the use of sustainable renewable sources. The carbon offsets from this project were validated by Bureau Veritas Quality International in accordance with the VER+ Standard and the Social Carbon Methodology.
  • Emergent Ventures India Wind Turbine Project

Interface purchased carbon offsets derived from the wind energy project developed in Tamil Nadu, India. Through the operation of wind turbines, electrical power is generated using wind energy and supplied to the local grid. In addition to the emissions reductions resulting from this project, the community will also benefit from employment opportunities and conserved natural resources.
  • Yunnan Nameguo, Faguo Hydropower Project

Interface purchased carbon offsets from the Nameguo and Faguo hydropower stations located in Yunnan Province, China. These run-of-river hydropower stations generate electricity from water resources, emitting no greenhouse gases in the process. The electricity generated is supplied to the South China grid, replacing generation from predominantly fossil fuel based power plants in the region. The carbon offsets from this project have been developed in accordance with the Voluntary Carbon Standard.
